Carl Gellert and Celia Berta Gellert Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was created to encourage women and minorities to pursue careers in engineering. Because of Santa Clara’s partnership with the Carl Gellert and Celia Berta Gellert Foundation, SCU has been able to attract a number of bright and promising scholars who otherwise might never have had the confidence or preparation to pursue an engineering career.
The Carl Gellert and Celia Berta Gellert Foundation has made grants to charities all across the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area for nearly 20 years.
The Foundation has supported numerous charitable causes over the years, from supporting educational institutions to social services for the homeless, low-income housing, and religious, public, and private school education.
Impact
The Carl Gellert and Celia Berta Gellert Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 by Carl and Celia Gellert to provide financial aid for women and minorities majoring in engineering fields. The gift is from the Carl Gellert and Celia B. Gellert Foundation, which has supported Santa Clara University with donations since 1959.
