Diversity and Adversity STEM Scholarship

The Diversity and Adversity STEM Scholarship was established by John & Pauline Groetelaars in honor and recognition of their children Matthew Groetelaars ’16 and Sara Groetelaars ’22 on November 19th, 2021. As part of their mission to support underrepresented students and students coming from adverse circumstances through this scholarship, the Diversity and Adversity STEM Scholarship looks to partner with Santa Clara University to advance their shared commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion for underrepresented students and those coming from adverse circumstances.

Impact

The purpose of this endowment fund is to provide gap scholarships for Santa Clara University students pursuing degrees in STEM fields giving preference where possible to students who are Black, African American, Native American, Latinx and/or presenting clear financial need as a result of an adverse circumstance including but not limited to losing a parent, becoming orphaned, or suffering from a serious health issue.
