Jenise E. Ellis Endowed Scholarship Fund
The initial gift from Quinn Emanuel Foundation was made possible by Harry A. Olivar Jr., family and friends, including partners the the law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges, LLP. This scholarship has been established to commemorate the life of Janise E. Elis who married Harry in 1990. Jenise graduated from SCU in 1984 in with a B.A. in English, attended law school, worked as a software marketing manager and an interior designer and fondly spent time at home with her three sons, Jordan, David, and Harry III. Jenise died on February 12, 2008.
Impact
The Jenise E. Ellis Endowed Scholarship Fund was established on April 24, 2008, by Harry A. Olivar Jr. to provide financial assistance to deserving, needy and worthy female students in the School of Arts and Sciences pursuing a degree in English. Recipients should demonstrate good academic standing and financial need.
