J.W. Bagley Endowed Scholarship Fund
On September 30th, 2021, the J. W. Bagley foundation established the J. W. Bagley Endowed Scholarship Fund, which continued their Foundation’s legacy of support of the University. The foundation, founded by James “Jim” Bagley, was originally established in 1994 with the intention of supporting elementary and higher education as well as health organizations in California, Mississippi, and Texas. They make this commitment in honor and recognition of their founders and proud SCU parents, Jim and Jean Bagley. According to the vision they set forth while supporting the J.W. Bagley Foundation Expendable Scholarship Fund, this new endowed scholarship fund will continue the important work of increasing access and affordability for students seeking a Santa Clara University education.
As part of their mission to support underrepresented and first-generation students through this scholarship, the JW Bagley Foundation aims to partner with Santa Clara University to advance their shared commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion for underrepresented and first-generation students and faculty.
Impact
The purpose of this endowment fund is to provide scholarships with a preference for students enrolled at Santa Clara University as members of the LEAD Scholars Program, giving preference where possible to students who are Black, African American, Native American, or Latinx.
