Keith Wilbur Bronco Bench Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund for Men's Water Polo
The Keith Wilbur Bronco Bench Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund for Men’s Water Polo was established on June 18th, 2012, by William L. Dow ’73.
Keith Wilbur, who was hired in July 2002, has spent each year as head coach of the men’s water polo team and the first 19 years also directing the women’s water polo program. An accomplished collegiate player, Wilbur has the most wins of any water polo coach in school history for both programs. He has recruited and coached six Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Americans, led both men’s and women’s programs to their best-ever seasons (including taking the women to the 2009 Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Championship game) and has twice been named WWPA Coach of the Year. Not only have his teams excelled athletically, his student-athletes have posted a 100 percent graduation rate on the women’s side and more than 95 percent on the men’s side. William Dow ‘73, a Chemistry major and rowing student-athlete during his undergraduate, established this fund (alongside others for rowing) for men’s water polo in honor of coach Keith Wilbur.
