Leupp Family Endowed Scholarship
The Leupp Family Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by Heidi LeBaron Leupp ’84 and Jay Leupp ’85.
Heidi and her husband, Jay, have been leaders in higher education causes in the San Francisco Bay Area. Heidi serves on the Santa Clara University Board of Trustees and SCU Board of Fellows. Jay serves on the SCU Ignatian Center Advisory Board and SCU Business Advisory Board. Heidi and Jay are also emeritus members of the SCU Board of Regents.
Heidi is the Founder and Director of Enlightened Women, a group that fosters education on policy issues to develop a more informed electorate. Heidi currently chairs the Federal Political Action Committee of the Lincoln Club of Northern California in San Francisco, a regional forum to educate its members on issues driving business and our economy. She also serves on the Board of Trustees at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco, chairing the Audit Committee. She spent much of her career in the fashion industry, as Marketing Director for Levi’s Personal Pair Jeans, as the National Retail Marketing Director for Levi Strauss, and as a retail executive for various department stores, including Macy’s, The Emporium, and Weinstocks in California and Maas Brothers-Jordan Marsh in Florida.
Jay Leupp is an Independent Director at Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. and a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager & Analyst at Lazard Asset Management LLC. Jay is on the Board of Directors at Healthcare Trust of America, Inc., Chaminade College Preparatory, Inc., G.W. Williams Co., The Lincoln Club of Northern California and Santa Clara University. He began working in the investment field in 1989. Prior to joining Lazard in 2011, Jay was the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grubb & Ellis Alesco Global Advisors and served as a Senior Portfolio Manager. Jay founded Alesco in 2006 and had been its President and CEO since its inception. Prior to founding Alesco, he served as Managing Director of Real Estate Equity Research at RBC Capital Markets. Previously, Jay served as Managing Director of Real Estate Equity Research at Robertson Stephens. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
The Leupps hope to provide a transformative SCU education, much like their own SCU experience, to gifted students through this scholarship.
Impact
The Leupp Family Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance for deserving undergraduate students, with preference to middle-income undergraduate students from underrepresented minority groups.
