Thaddeus J. Whalen Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Thaddeus J. Whalen Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 by the friends and family of Thaddeus J. Whalen Jr., professor of economics, in recognition of his years as director of undergraduate education in the Leavey School of Business and Administration. While at the Leavey School of Business, he taught principles of economics, analysis of economic conditions, business cycle forecasts and industrial organization. His main research interest is in the field of industrial organization and his publications have appeared in the Journal of Political Economy and the Journal of Law and Economics. Active in civic and community affairs, Whalen was one of the founders of the Bank of Santa Clara and served on its Board of Directors.
Impact
The Thaddeus J. Whalen Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance to deserving undergraduate students.
