The Barry Family Endowed Scholarship in the Arts and Sciences
The Barry Family Endowed Scholarship in the Arts and Sciences was established on April 3, 2001 by Douglas and Marie Barry in honor of their family. The Barry family consists of Douglas ’66 & ’74, Marie ’68; Chris ’92, Kristy ’93, Matt UCSB ’93 and Laura, OSU ’96.
Douglas and Marie Barry were awarded the Louis I. Bannan Alumni Service Award in 2010 for their contribution and leadership within the SCU alumni community. Douglas was a member of Men’s Rowing before completing his Economics degree in ’66 and Juris Doctor in ’74, while Marie studied English and graduated in ’68. They would meet on campus. Their child, Chris, played lacrosse while studying Political Science and would also go on meet his future spouse Kristy, who studied Finance, at Santa Clara University.
Impact
