Secretary of Higher Education of the Society of Jesus and University Chancellor Endowment Fund

To advance the work of the Jesuits world wide in the field of higher education, including Santa Clara as integral to that network. Developing collaborative efforts among Jesuit colleges and universities world wide, especially in projects that create a more humane, just and sustainable world. Utilizing technology to deliver educational resources on a colloborative basis, especially resources that improve the plight of the poor and marginalized. Projects and programs that involve Jesuit higher education leadership and/or significant Jesuit involvement or sponsorship in higher education and also reflect the priorities of the Society’s emphasis on faith doing justice. These projects and programs will seek to advance the Jesuit ideal of educating the whole person in the context of academic excellence and solidarity as noted in the 2000 address by Father Peter Hans-Kolvenbach, S.J. at Santa Clara. Promoting global education as essential to Jesuit education at Santa Clara University. Promoting work of the Chancellor of Santa Clara University. Funds will be allocated by the Secretary of Higher Education of the Society of Jesus and (or) Chancellor, after consultation with the Vice President for Business and Finance.
