Expendable: Northern California Belizean Alumni Fund

Purpose: The primary reason for establishing the Northern California Belizean Alumni Fund (hereinafter referred to as the Fund) is the existing need to support the Belizean national student in his/her academic endeavor when attending university in Northern California. The common goal of the Northern California Belizean Alumni is to increase the accessibility of educational opportunities for those talented belizean students, who aspire t achieve training in majors not available at the local University College of Belize. Financial Goal: The immediate financial goal is to provide a one time gift stipend, to be disbursed annually by SCU to a Belizean student for expenses related to their course of study at SCU. Some examples of approved usage would include, but are not limited to, funding independent study projects, the purchase of equipment or supplies, or attending summer programs that will enhance the recipient’s academic program at SCU. It is the intention of the Fund to make an initial gift to SCU that can be awarded to a Belizean student during the 1997-98 academic year. The fund’s initial gift to SCU is expected to be in the $00 range. In the future, it is the goal of the Fund to create a fully endowed scholarship fund at SCU for the benefit of Belizean nationals attending the University.
