Father Schmidt Foundation For Youth Middle Income Scholarship Endowment

Established in 1991, this scholarship provides scholarships for middle income students. Each year a Schmidt Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior accepted for undergraduate study at the Santa Clara University. To qualify, the student must demonstrate excellence in academic achievement – defined as a minimum 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, high morals, a sense of dedication to community, and a well-rounded activities program in high school. The candidate must also be interviewed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. The scholarship will be renewed for the recipient’s entire four years of undergraduate education, provided the student remains a 3.5 overall GPA. During his or her four years of study at SCU, the recipient shall be known as a Father Schmidt Scholar
